BREAST SHAPE GUIDE

Different Breast Types

Have you ever gone bra shopping, positive that you knew your size, but the bras you tried on didn’t fit correctly? You are not alone! Finding a bra that fits comfortably and supports your curves is not simply about size; it’s also about breast shape. The illustrations and information in the breast shape chart below will help you determine which breast shape category you fall into. ROUND

The tissue in round breasts is equally full all the way around giving
them a very circular shape. Women who have round breasts can
benefit greatly from a variety of different bra types including
comfortable everyday bras and t-shirt bras.

SHALLOW TOP/FULL BOTTOM

Breasts with more tissue and a fuller look on the bottom compared
to the top are described as having a shallow top/full bottom shape.
This breast type is more common for women who have breastfed.
Bras that feature an elastic neckline and close-set straps are ideal for
this breast type. T-shirt bras with contour cups that help reshape the
bust are also a good option for women with this breast shape.

PENDULOUS

Pendulous breasts have soft tissue, a longer shape, and more weight
closer to the nipple. There are a variety of bras to accommodate this
breast type. Full coverage bras are often a great choice for women with
pendulous shaped breasts because they provide perfect containment
for ultimate comfort.

EAST/WEST OR SIDE-SET

Breasts that have more space between them because most of the tissue is
on the sides of the body are described as east/west. Side-set breasts are
similar to east/west breasts in that they gravitate to the side. To center the
bust inside of the body frame, women with east/west or side-set breasts
should choose bras that bring the breasts in. Comfort wire bras are a great
option for women with this type of breast because they help to center the
bust and have virtually undetectable underwires for maximum comfort.

PETITE

Petite breasts have less tissue and do not naturally create cleavage. Bras
with padding add volume so they are ideal for women with this breast
type. Push up bras also give petite breasts a boost that helps to create
cleavage.

ASYMMETRIC OR UNEVEN

Breasts that differ in size are called asymmetric or uneven. This usually
occurs when one breast contains more tissue than the other. Many women
with asymmetric breasts also fall into another one of the categories shown
in this breast shape chart.
