It all comes down to comfort, convertibility & concealing.
It’s no secret: Wearing a bra for the first time is a big change—and buying your daughter her first bra can feel daunting, but of course, you want to help. Allow us to introduce the 3 C’s of tween bra shopping: comfort, convertibility and concealing.
As her body is growing and changing, comfort is key and what she chooses should feel easy and non-constricting. Her first bra should be soft, stretchy and perhaps wire-free, making her transition into wearing a bra feel a bit less overwhelming and more grown up. Wearing something comfortable should be as comforting as her favorite sweatshirt.
Many tweens wear clothing that’s more casual—such as tank tops with skinny straps. We suggest bras with a J-hook that reposition straps to not slip or show.
Opt for a style with a soft, stretch foam pad. It’s less about padding and more about concealing. A lightly padded style is more about evening out her shape or concealing her nipple.
